Hinesville announces 2011 Georgia Cities Week art contest winners

The City of Hinesville and Hinesville Downtown Development Authority are pleased to announce the winners of the 2011 Georgia Cities Week art contest. Elementary students in the Liberty County School System submitted their work to HDDA and winners were selected for each grade level by members of the community.

The 2011 winners are as follows:
Kindergarten: Shelby Horne, Taylors Creek Elementary
First Grade: Briana Moore, Taylors Creek Elementary
Second Grade: Miame Stroman, Taylors Creek Elementary

Third Grade: Sache Rodriguez, Taylors Creek Elementary

Fourth Grade: Haley Stuart, First Presbyterian Christian Academy
Fifth Grade: Keith Milner, Taylors Creek Elementary

These students will be recognized at a public art reception April 19 from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the Old Jail Museum, 302 S. Main Street. All entries from students who entered the contest are displayed April 11-22 at the same location.

“Students were asked to submit an original art piece with the theme ‘City Life!’ in honor of Georgia Cities Week,” Hinesville spokesperson Krystal Britton said. “We are excited about displaying the 143 entries and I am happy to see the talent we have in our community showcased.”
